A nursery class is provided during the Sunday School hour, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM for children up to 3 years of age.  Monitors are given to parents in case their assistance is needed by a nursery worker.  Children 3 to 6 years of age can attend our Children's Church Service.  Our nursery and Children's Church Service are located in the church basement under the sanctuary.

" Adult Insights" is an all age class that studies non-traditional Sunday School material. In the past we have studied "Solving The Da Vinci Code", Men are like Waffles and Women are like Spaghetti", and "Religions of the World". We also do video series such as "Gilligan's Island and the Seven Deadly Sins" and a "Christmas Carroll". The class is designed to encourage members to voice their opinions and lead to lively discussion. We often learn more from the discussions than from just reading the text. The class members decide on the next material to be studied at the end of the current session. We are currently studying Why Men and Women Act The Way They Do" by Bill and Pam Farrel. If you like lively discussion you will fit right in, please join us.

Class:  Christian Classics
The Christian Classics Class is a discussion-oriented class open to all ages and viewpoints—the broader the range of opinion, the better! We read books that are considered “classics” of Christian writing and discuss them in class. The class meets at 10 a.m. on Sundays in the Ruth Room. If you are interested in this class, contact Bob Culp (732-7155 or bc1511@gmail. com).

Class:  Young Adult Class
College age and older young adults meet to discuss how faith impacts their busy lives.  They use the Bible, current events, and insights into comtemporary issues to ignite lively discussion.  David Cates leads this lively and interesting class and they meet in the Youth Barn.

Faith Study
The Faith Study group began in 1992 and meets Wednesdays from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. in the Ruth Room. This group of women enjoys studying the Bible and our faith, fellowship, and helping each other along life's journey. We collectively choose our study books and each woman has her personal copy. Leadership responsibilities are shared among many of the group members and discussion is always stimulating and insightful. Authors we have studied include Beth Moore, David Jeremiah, Maxie Dunnam, Joanna Weaver, Max Lucado, Joyce Meyer, Linda Dillow, Cynthia Heald, and many others. We welcome any women to join us! E-mail the church office if you are interested and one of our members will contact you.

United Methodist Men:
When:     Second Sunday of every month
Time:      8:00 a.m.
Where:   Fellowship Hall for breakfast

Our purpose is to assist men to know Jesus Christ, to serve Him, to grow spiritually and seek daily to do his will and to foster Christian fellowship and spiritual growth.

HUMC Men have been a member of the General Commission on United Methodist Men for a number of years. Each man is encouraged in these personal objectives.
     1.  To engage daily in Bible study and prayer.
     2.  To bear witness to Christ's way in daily work and in all personal contacts through works and action.
     3.  To engage in some definite Chirstian service.

Many HUMC members have taken the Walk to Emmaus.  When you feel the time is right for you to take your walk, we invite you to take your own personal journey.  The aim is "to strengthen individual’s personal relationship with Jesus Christ; t o return strong lay leaders to the church; and to encourage people to Christianize their environment."    For information regarding the Walk to Emmaus, please click the Walk to Emmaus icon.

The name for the HUMC Emmaus Reunion Group is "Branches".  Branches meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM in the Ministry Center Gathering Room
